Exploring Elements in the UI

Note: this is applicable to all elements built using Element Builder, most but not all elements have the functionality listed below.

1. Go to the Swagger documentation for the element in question.
2. Click on the resources tab at the top of the screen.
3. Find the endpoint, click the Edit button.
4. The resource listed on the right-hand side is the native resource: 

What if the 'maps to' field is blank?  This is common with SOAP APIs where the object is sent in a payload rather than the URL.

1. From the Resources tab, find the endpoint.
2. Click Try It Out, then execute.
3. Scroll down to the response and note the arrow-shaped tabs.
4. Select 'VENDORREQUEST' and review the payload for the native object name

In the swagger documentation for an element, you can use GET /objects/{objectName}/metadata to return a list of fields for an object.  This API is also used by the Cloud Elements VDRs mapping screen.

GET /objects -> return a list of supported objects for the element
GET /objects/{objectNameFromAbove}/metadata -> return a list of fields for a given object
